We unfortunately had to put our 18 year old cat down a few weeks ago. It was an agonizing decision. I have had my cat since she was 6 weeks old.

We called Cumming Veterinary Clinic to come to our home and perform the euthanasia. We felt that this was a more humane way to conduct this process (the cat would be in familiar surroundings).

They did not warn us how traumatic and painful this would be to be part of. They told me when I made the arrangements that they would give her a sedative to calm her but that was not the case. My last memories of my beloved cat are her trying to get away from the vet and howling. If you can't handle watching your pet in pain I strongly suggest that you think many times before participating in this process.

If this was not traumatic enough, I called the vet (it was 4 days later) to ask about obtaining her ashes (the vet took her body with them) and was told to call crematory to find out more information (which had no record of our cat). When I called the vet, they discovered her body was still in the back room in the freezer.

After crying for 4 days, it was heartbreaking to call and find out our pet has been forgotten in a freezer for several days. If you love your pet, do not take him or her to this vet.

Several days after my small dog had emergency surgery to place a shunt in her neck and received several staples to treat a dog bite, I arranged to board her with All About Animals in Carrollton Georgia (vet: Luke Lipham) for follow-up care, treatment, and to have the shunt removed. She was boarded for two and a half days. I was completely appalled when I went to pick her up and learned that she had not received any medical treatment while being boarded. At first the clinic attempted to cover-up their error by removing the shunt at the time of her discharge and claiming she had received the appropriate medication (antibiotics, pain medicine) throughout her stay. After demanding to see her chart, the clinic staff admitted that they had put her chart in the wrong location and had not medically treated her throughout the entire time she was boarded. This was a dog with an Elizabeth collar, a large tube through the middle of her throat, and several staples atop her head and below her neck--and she received received absolutely no medical treatment while she was boarded for two and a half days! The vet--who walked by several times during my complaint to the staff--said nothing and did not address this considerable act of malfeasance and neglect. I do not recommend this clinic to anyone who expects--at a minimum--moderate care for their animal. If you are looking for a staff who is competent, caring, and attentive, this is not the clinic to use.

What a fantastic group of people. They are so professional, compassionate and passionate about what they do. I cannot begin to thank them for all they have done for my pets. Especially for Woofer. We will miss her so much, thank you for giving us extra time with her. God Bless all of you! I will never forget the kindness that everyone showed us.

On Tuesday October 28 I brought my Lab to the Augusta Animal Emergency Clinic. Lucky was in bad shape and as his owner I knew it was close to being "his time". The doctor on duty that evening was unprofessional and lax in keeping us informed---or rather should I say he kept us mis-informed. We were not told of charges until AFTER major work had been done. When he offered to either euthanize my pet or perform surgery, I knew my dog would not make it. I made the decision to end my beloved's life peacefully at which time the doctor questioned me , tried profusely to persuade me to have surgery, when I said "NO" he plied my husband pitting us one against another. My dog ultimately made the choice for us as he passed on his own less than 2 hours after my arrival at the clinic. The doctor disappeared at this time without so much as an "I'm Sorry for your loss" or to tell us all of the measures that had been taken on behalf of my pet. As we left we were socked with a $1150 bill which had to be paid on the spot. Not only was I in grief and shocked, but I was stunned as I had been told my charges would be about $700 to $800 for the work thus completed. I do not recommend this facility if Dr. Keith is on duty.
